What are tuck end boxes?
Tuck end boxes are the most common retail carton. They are cut from a single sheet of paperboard, ship flat, and close with tuck flaps at the top and bottom — no glue or tape needed by the packer.
There are three main styles. Straight tuck end (STE) has both flaps tucking in from the same side, giving a clean front panel. Reverse tuck end (RTE) has the flaps on opposite sides, which uses board more efficiently and costs less. Auto-lock or crash-lock bottoms pop into shape and hold heavier products such as jars and bottles.
Tuck end boxes print beautifully in full colour and take every finish: foil, spot UV, embossing and windows. They are the default choice for products that sit on a shelf, go into a mailer, or need barcode and ingredient information.

What is the difference between straight and reverse tuck?+
In a straight tuck end box both flaps tuck from the same side, giving a clean front. In a reverse tuck box they tuck from opposite sides, which uses less board and costs less.
When should I use an auto-lock bottom?+
For heavier products such as jars and bottles, or when boxes are packed quickly. The bottom locks into shape as the box is opened.
