What are two-piece rigid boxes?
A two-piece rigid box has a separate lid and base made from thick grey board wrapped in printed or textured paper. Lifting the lid off is a slow, satisfying reveal, which is why two-piece boxes are a staple for apparel, cosmetics, jewelry and gifts.
There are three main variations. A full telescope lid covers the whole base. A partial lid shows part of the base as a contrast band. A shoulder-neck box has an inner collar, so the lid sits flush with the base for a clean, premium silhouette.
Rigid boxes are delivered assembled (they do not fold flat), so they are best for products where the box is kept and reused. Inserts in card, foam or EVA hold products in place, and dividers can split the box into compartments.
